City Museum

The city museum is a surreal place designed by an artist as a child's/adult's playground. There are tunnels, caves, slides, and no small amount of weirdness in this old industrial building downtown. Outdoors there is a series of "jungle gym" tubes made out of rebar that you can climb through, wondering all the while when they were last inspected for safety. We went for a friend's 40th birthday and took Gabe with us (the other two are too young to enjoy it not to mention the safety hazard they would present for us). It was a hoot! We had a great time as did Gabe. Here are a few of the pics.

One of the first things you see inside is a slide descending from the 3rd floor to the first...here are a couple shots of it and of the view when you enter the museum. The "slinky" looking object on the upper right is rebar that you can climb through from one level to the next--we were feeling our size trying to keep up with Gabe!

Here is a partial shot of the outdoor portion...yes, there are airplanes suspended 5 stories up that you can climb in and out of.

Andy and I had a really good time with Gabe. It's strange that he's already 4...he's really turning into a little person with his own opinions and desires (of course that's been true for a LONG time). At any rate, it was really fun to go out and do something fun with him where he had our undivided attention.

That looks so interesting! I'm sure Malachi would've loved it too! Thanks for the info on cloth diapers! It's great to watch your family on here. You all look great and your kiddos are so stinkin cute!
