We brought Ian home from the hospital on Monday. His bilirubin levels were still a bit high, so he did a bit of "tanning" under some lights here at home. Today was the last day for the lights. Now we're working on getting him to gain weight. I'm pumping and feeding him from a bottle as he is totally worn out after exerting the energy to eat. So we head to the breastfeeding clinic each day to have him weighed...I'm praying tomorrow he'll have gained weight-or at least maintained. He weighed in at 5 lbs 13 oz today...down from 6 lbs 8 oz. I'm hoping that within a few weeks he'll be able to nurse so I can save some time and energy on the whole pumping and bottle feeding deal. Overall he's doing well and we are grateful for a healthy little guy!

Ian is set to come home today, though we'll be bringing bili-lights with us. He is jaundiced and the doctor wants him under the lights for longer. We are grateful to be able to do that at home as we are eager to be out of the neonatal intensive care unit. He is eating better, now we are going to work on getting him to breast feed. It may be a lenghty process. We'll see. Pray for endurance and energy for us...that we would cling to the Lord in this transition.

I turned the camera sideways for a better view...but can't rotate it now that I have it. Nonetheless, you'll get the picture.
